Go to Settings and tap "Export Backup." This creates a JSON file you can save or share. To restore, use "Import Backup" on the same or a new device.
Yes. The microphone is only needed for the speech-to-text (dictation) feature. You can type your diary entries manually and still get grammar corrections, translations, and shadowing exercises.
The AI-powered features (grammar correction, text-to-speech, speech-to-text, and conversation practice) require a connection to process your requests. Writing entries and reviewing past entries works offline.
Go to Settings and tap "Clear All Data" to delete everything. You can also delete individual diary entries by swiping on them in the History tab.
ShadowDaily uses OpenAI's services for grammar correction (GPT-4o), speech-to-text (Whisper), and text-to-speech. Your data is processed but not stored by these services. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
